I HATE making these!!

Now, I know "hate" is a strong word but I truly do not have a good relationship with these suckers!

Feeling sorry for myself when school starts as I'll have to make 3 packs of them since Gethin starts kindy this year. More, if I truly am wonder woman and make myself and my darling husband lunch as well!

I've tried all the tricks and nothing works quite right for me.

Do them straight after eating dinner. Ummm NO! By the time I've slaved away in the kitchen making dinner and then tidied up after, the last thing I feel like doing is making more food!

Get up extra early and make them. Not gonna happen!

So for now, my poor family will have to make do with my 2 sec.-made-in-a-hurry-slap-on-some-spread-sandwiches!

Maybe one day, when I win the Lottery, they will get gourmet sandwiches made by the live-in Chef!

We're celebrating our 3rd Australia Day today!

I asked everyone at the breakfast table this morning what they liked about Australia.

Ross: "I like Australia because we can swim!"

Madison: "I like Australia because its hot!" (And boy is she right! 41 degrees today!)

Gethin: "I like Australia because ............." (He's still getting back to us on that one.)

Paul: "I like Australia because I'm getting to build our dream home!"

Michelle: "I like Australia because we get to go to Kings Park whenever we want for fun, family picnics!"

In my desperate attempts to get a half decent photo of my 3 I eventually resorted to my tried and tested photo pose which seems to be the only way I get these 3 monsters precious treasures to look at the camera and smile!

My new favourite breakfast! I am not a big breakfast fan - I hate cereal and can't be bothered to make myself anything else, so these are just the "most perfect accompaniment" to my morning cup of coffee!
They're from South Africa so I really hope the IGA never runs out!

Box tunnels! Love the way kids are so eager to build things but not so keen to pack it all away!

And last but not least, we have SWIMMING POOL NO. 2! Pool no. 1 went to swimming pool heaven since it got dirty and the OCD man of the house deemed it unworthy of any more "swims"! Thank you to my very kind parents for the gift of pool number 2 - I shall make sure that it too, does not end up in "Pool Heaven".

Project: House

For 10 years now, Paul and I have been dreaming of the day when we would be able to live in the family home of our dreams. When we first moved to Australia it seemed like that dream would take a very long time to be realised! Three children and 3 countries later sure does take a toll on ones finances!
However after a lot of hard work on our part and the sale of our townhouse in South Africa that dream is starting to materialise.
We are now the proud owners of this:

Lot 276 Mead Street in the suburb of Byford, Perth, Australia is ours - all ours!
The next year is sure to be filled with many ups and downs as we build our dream home but this is one roller coaster ride that I'm happy to be on!

A wonderful 4 weeks!

It would take me a month of Sundays to create a blog post detailing the Festive Season so I decided to create a slide show instead.
